Professional Holiday Photos @ Big Lake Trees

Big Lake Trees & Events is now available as a magical backdrop for your professional holiday photos! You are welcome to photograph in any of the outdoor spaces on our lower or middle tree fields during your sessions. To gain access to our decorated glamping tent, you must reserve the session that includes the glamping tent. Otherwise, there are plenty of natural backdrops but no indoor areas. Parking is available at each of our tree fields, along with a wooden composting outhouse. Dogs are welcome, but please keep them leashed and clean up any messes.

Please note that this is a working tree farm, so we may be tending the trees or preparing for tree sales during your visit, but we will do our best to stay out of your way. Only one photo session is scheduled at a time, so we should all have plenty of room.

These sessions must be reserved by a professional photographer. Individuals interested in having their holiday (or other) photographs taken at Big Lake Trees should contact a professional photographer to reserve the session. Big Lake Trees does not provide photographers, but we are happy to provide the names of photographers who are familiar with our tree farm!

Terms & Conditions (and other Details)

Advance reservations are required for all professional photography sessions. Photo sessions cannot be scheduled during our tree sales hours due to parking restraints and out of respect for our u-cut Christmas tree farm customers. By registering for a photography session, you agree to the following terms and conditions.

Children & Dogs.

Children must be kept under close supervision. We do have a pond, ditches and other potentially hazardous features throughout the farm. Dogs are allowed but must be leashed. Messes must be picked up and disposed of properly.

Alcohol & Cigarettes.

No alcohol or smoking of any kind is permitted on our tree farm.

Buildings.

Do not enter any buildings except our wooden outhouses or, if included in your reservation, our glamping tent. You are welcome to take photos next to any of our buildings though, and to take shelter under any lean-tos.

Photo Sessions.

Please adhere to your agreed time slot and leave your photoshoot areas clean and free of trash.

Drones & Props.

Drones are not permitted on our tree farm. Do not use any props that involve a flame (candles, sparklers, etc.) or leave a mess (confetti, glitter, etc.)

Wildlife.

We share our farm with various forms of wildlife. Do not feed or disturb any wildlife. This is also one reason that dogs need to be kept on a leash.

Insurance.

Professional photographers must have a business license and be properly insured to cover personal or property damage caused by the photographer or their clients.

Inherent Risks.

As a working farm, photo sessions on our property are an agritourism activity. Under Washington state law, there is limited liability for an injury to or death of a participant in an agritourism activity conducted at this agritourism location if such an injury or death results exclusively from the inherent risks of the agritourism activity. Inherent risks of agritourism activities include, among others, risks of injury inherent to land, equipment, and animals, as well as the potential for you to act in a negligent manner that may contribute to your injury or death. We are required to ensure that in any activity involving minor children, only age-appropriate access to activities, equipment, and animals is permitted. You are assuming the risk of participating in this agritourism activity.

Rescheduling.

As an outdoor-only location in the Pacific Northwest, we recognize that some days are simply not conducive to photos. We also realize that life happens, people get sick, and so on. We therefore allow photographers to reschedule their session up to 24 hours in advance of their scheduled photo shoot—for any reason. C will be considered on a case by case basis.
